West Dallas Community School seeks to have a volunteer involved in the life of every student in some way, whether as a tutor, mentor, and/or prayer partner.
Visit -- Experience West Dallas Community School firsthand. Come for one of our Lunch & Learns (This includes Lunch and Learning more about the school from 12noon- 1:15 p.m.)- dates on Calendar of Events
Volunteer -- Opportunities include tutoring during the school day, sharing your talents (piano, guitar, chess, needlepoint lessons, rocketry, etc.), chaperoning field trips, administrative help, and special projects (health screenings, book fairs, fundraising events, etc.).
Shepherd a Child -- Studies reveal that a caring adult mentor has a profound impact on a child's sense of self-worth and academic performance. Shepherds have the privilege of being matched with a child to become godly, positive influences in their lives. You may participate as an individual or as a family.
Shield of Prayer -- There are three ways you can be involved in praying for the school
1. Adopt a classroom – we will give you the names of the students and teacher of a classroom for you to keep in your prayers (connect with the teacher on specific prayer requests) and be their personal prayer warrior.
2. Be on our monthly prayer list – we will send out monthly prayer requests of the school
3. Be a part of a prayer group – there are a group of ladies that come to the school and pray
