West Dallas Community School operates on a traditional school calendar. The school day for all children begins at 8 am and dismisses at 3:30 pm. Students from pre-kindergarten through 4th grade have one primary teacher in a self-contained classroom. Middle school students have more teachers because of the depth of the subject matter studied. In addition to primary subjects of language arts, history, mathematics, science, and Spanish, students participate in art, music, nature studies, physical education, Bible, and chapel each week.
